Action-packed snowmobile adventure with an ice hotel stay
An exclusive guided experience of the wild landscapes of the Finnmarksvidda Plateau. Drive your own state of the art snowmobile/Skidoo. Ride past reindeer herds and vast icy lakes in the snowy wilderness. Action-packed activities are all part of this adrenaline-filled journey. Rest up after your ride in remote and comfortable mountain cabins at the end of each day. Here you can go ice fishing for wild trout, dog sledding or even learn how to throw lassos Sami style. End your epic ride with a night at the famous Sorrisniva Ice Hotel in Alta. The hotel is rebuilt every year with a fresh Arctic theme to include cosy ice Igloo rooms, incredible sculptures, and a bar. All in glittering ice and snow!
This is a very exclusive tour. All meals, overnight stays, transfers, and outdoor gear are included.
The minimum group size is 6 people, discounts available on groups over 10 or more.
Tour Program
Skidoo raid and Ice hotel
Day 1
Skidoo safari to Nedre mollisjokk cabin, lasso throwing, ice fishing and more
11 AM (approx.) Transfer to Stilla where the safari starts
12 AM (Approx.) Start scooter safari to Nedre Mollisjokk Cabin (65 km)
A 2.5-hour adventurous ride to a remote cabin in Nedre Mollisjokk on the Finnmarksvidda Plateau. After a late lunch at this cosy cabin, you have an array of activities to take part in. From reindeer sledding and lasso throwing to tandem skiing behind a Skidoo and ice fishing for wild trout. Get warmed up and comfortable in the cabin sauna and with a traditional Sami evening meal of Bidos. Overnight stay at Nedre Mollisjokk Mountain cabins.
Day 2
Skidoo safari to engholm lodge (70 km) and dog sledding
9 AM Breakfast at Nedre Mollisjokk Cabin
10 AM Scooter safari to Engholm Lodge, Karasjokk (70 km)
1 PM Lunch at Engholm
The meals are hearty and made from organic produce from their garden. Meat and fish from local producers or the Alta River.
2.30 PM Dog sledding at Engholm or other activities
Have a go at “mooshing” (the term used for driving your own team of dogs) with these wonderful and highly skilled huskies. Cross country skiing or snowshoeing in the Arctic wilderness are other available activities.
6 pm Dinner and overnight at Engholm Lodge
Day 3
Skidoo safari back to Alta ice hotel with wilderness lunch on the way
9 AM Breakfast at Engholm Lodge
10 AM. Skidoo safari back to Alta and the Ice Hotel (110 km)
Drive back to Alta on your Skidoo and enjoy lunch out in the wild on the way. Your guides will light a bonfire and bring food to cook. Imagine what it is like to be a Sami reindeer herder. Being out in the open on your Skidoos for days on end, eating outside and travelling with your reindeer.
3 PM (Approx.) Check in to Ice Hotel
The Snorrisniva Ice Hotel in Alta is a beautiful building. Made from snow and ice with a new Arctic theme every winter season. The bedrooms have reindeer skins and very warm sleeping bags. Next to the hotel are 2 lovely restaurants. There is also a service building with all the mod cons needed for staying well-fed, clean and comfortable. There is also a sauna and outdoor hot tubs to enjoy should the fancy take you.
6 PM (approx) Dinner at the restaurant next to the Ice Hotel
The Ice Hotel´s 2 restaurants serve up locally sourced and inspired a la carte food, and a table is reserved for you.
11-11 PM Overnight stay in the Ice Hotel
An overnight stay in the Ice Hotel ranks high on everyone´s bucket list. The hotel has beautiful ice sculptures and even a bar made of snow and ice. Enjoy a drink from ice glasses! A truly unique end to an epic Skidoo raid!
Day 4
Breakfast and return home
10 AM Transfer to the airport (Flights not included)
