Activities
The Malangen Resort offers a range of activities. All activities include complete outdoor winter clothing with thermal suits, gloves, hats, and boots.
A light snack is always served during the activity (i.e. sausages, pancakes, bidos soup, etc).
Activities include Dog sledding, Dog sledding under the Northern lights, Enter the wild on a Snowmobile, Northern Lights Watch,Trapper’s day on Snowshoes, Snowy Forests on Skis, Sami storytelling and reindeer feeding, Northern Lights snowshoeing – contact us for more information.
Facilities
- Outdoor hot tub and sauna
The large glass-fronted sauna is located right by the waterfront. Enjoy unsurpassed views of the spectacular fjord and mountains while relaxing in the warmth of the sauna. A changing room with shower and toilet facilities is located adjacent to the sauna. The open-air hot tub is located alongside the glass-fronted sauna. If you’re lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights during a relaxing dip in the warm water. - Restaurant and bar
The menu at Malangen Resort is built around traditional Northern Norwegian cuisine. The chef emphasizes using local ingredients and products in all our dishes to ensure the freshest and healthiest food for our guests. The sea is our main supplier to our menu due to the proximity and easy access to the freshest seafood available.

Camp Nikka
Camp Nikka is a 20-minute walk from Malangen Resort. It has two large lavvus (Sami herdsmen’s tents), a rustic shelter and restroom facilities.During winter, you can walk on the frozen lake and enjoy the fresh mountain air. In summer, there are good chances of catching trout and Arctic char with a fishing rod. The surrounding forest trails are the venue for tailored excursions. There is no electricity up at Camp Nikka, which means there is no artificial lighting. This makes Camp Nikka a real Northern Lights hotspot in the Tromso region.
Location
The resort is located 64 km from Tromsø.
Bus/minibus departure and arrival at Scandic Ishavshotel in downtown Tromso. Please note that the transfers must be booked at least 48 hours in advance as the bus does not run without reservations.
