Currently, these can be done year-round:

• A range of safaris are always on offer to see wild animals & photograph Arctic lights
• Ever heard a chorus in a cave? 5 minutes walking from the hotel, you can walk deep into the mountain and experience a chorus of 40 male singers in a cave lit up by candles. The cave was built by Russian prisoners during the most recent World War.
• Opt into a historical guided tour of the hotel. It is one of the last of its kind, with a story that dates back over a 100 years and interweaves Norwegian and international history. You will get to know all of the famous people who have stayed here, and the many uses it had over the years. Other guided tours can be done to Arctic nature, local culture, or by bus through mountains & sea.

Winter: Choose from a range of either action-packed outdoor fun or curious cultural experiences.

• Visit the world’s northernmost wildlife park, Polar Park, with exceptionally large space for each of their four-legged family members. Animals include lynx, wolverines, muskox, reindeer, moose, and bear. You can add on a visit to the enclosures with fox and wolves that may even come up to kiss your face!
• Immerse yourself in Sami life by feeding reindeer and getting to know real Sami people and their culture
• Husky safaris range from short sled tours to fun competitions
• Northern Lights guided tours available, from kick sledding outside with a guide to photo safaris
• Wild moose safari – meet the wild moose of the area by bus or foot with a guide
• Try your hand at ice fishing with a guide in the surrounding lakes
• Go snowshoeing – either dare to try it yourself or have a guide show you the best spots

Summer: Recreation includes active outdoor activities and various fishing opportunities.

• Try salmon fishing in Målselva River, one of the best-known waters for salmon. The average size of caught salmon here is 10 lbs, though they can reach up to 25 lbs. Primetime to come for this is July, though it can be done from June – August.
• Go on a trout, char, & grayling adventure with a guide! Drive about 30min from the hotel to a secret, exotic wonderland for these fish. The first hours of the trip are spent being taught the technique for fly casting, after which you will get the chance to try your luck in various rivers. This activity runs from May – October.
• The Målselva River is perfect for canoe adventures, whether you’d prefer to do this with or without a guide. You can also rent camping equipment to spend the night outside in the wilderness.
• The Øvre Dividal National Park provides plenty of hiking spots close to the hotel. The park includes vast, historical Sami sites and an abundance of lakes and mountain flora and fauna. Alternative, you can also rent a bike to explore the surrounding area.
