How to prepare for an Arctic Holiday
Travel hacks, tips and tricks!
Book early! – Winter holidays are becoming more and more popular. The best places are often small cities or towns with limited accommodation.
Before planning, check the weather forecast. Secondly, don’t put too much trust in the weather forecast.
Make sure to bring layers, thermals, fleece or wool is the best.
Bring, sturdy waterproof boots. Mittens and a hat that covers your ears. A warm winter jacket and waterproof trousers, also remember warm socks. Stuff your shoes with smaller items that you need to pack and roll up your clothes. They take less space that way and won’t crease as much.
Pack bulkier items at the bottom of your bag, except your jacket, you might want to put that on before leaving the airport.
Bring lip balm and sun cream (yes, sun cream) and sunglasses. Winter snow combined with glaring sun equals skin damage.
Don’t just stand outside waiting for the Auroras to appear, plan activities in the evenings. Have some fun and do it in a way that increases your chances of seeing the Northern Lights.
Remember your camera!
