Broadcast in 180+ countries, the Arctic Race is now the 10th most followed race in the world on Facebook. First started six years ago, the race’s popularity has grown substantially and is now officially sponsored by UCI and included in the Europe Tour. The event’s managers ASO also own and manage Le Tour de France among other sporting events.
In 2018, the route spanned the northernmost coast of Norway. This year, the Arctic Race will tour around Lofoten and the surrounding islands. Divided into four days, each stage spans 160 – 180 kilometres:
- Å in Lofoten – Leknes
- Henningsvær – Svolvær
- Sortland – Melbu
- Lødingen – Narvik
Following the presentation of the 2019 route, Telenor also announced a new agreement to upgrade the mobile network in Northern Norway along the Arctic Race route. With the upgraded network, media and visitors will easily be able to cover what goes on in and around the magnificent islands of Lofoten and Northern Norway. Taking place from the 15th – 18th August, the Arctic race is a fantastic event for families, friends, and sports enthusiasts alike. This is the time to experience the end of summer in Northern Norway!
