Frozen 2, the long awaited sequel releases today and is deeply influenced by Norwegian nature, culture and traditions…
The fictional Kingdom of Arendelle draws inspiration after the Norwegian city Arendal baring a strikingly similar name. The films locations are inspired by many places in Norway. Akershus Fortress in Oslo was the model for Elsa and Anna’s castle in the original film and the landscapes and architecture around Norway have been captured in the films.
Also drawing inspiration from Norway is the Sami Culture with the inclusion of Kristoff, a Sami Iceman that lives with his Reindeer Companion Sven. Frozen 2 is said to feature much more Sami culture throughout and the filmmakers have worked with a group of Sami from the Saami Council in order to ensure as much accuracy as possible for the sequel.
Do you want to build a snowman? With our brand new frozen inspired trip to Arctic Norway you can! Featuring Snow, Northern Lights and Reindeer in the settings that inspired the film.
