Take part in a 3 night trip that includes the very best the Lofoten Islands have to offer. All whilst staying in an original fishermen rorbu cabin. You will have the ocean on one side, and the spectacular Lofoten mountains on the other. Discover Lofoten by the seaside, chase the mesmerising Northern Lights, and capture stunning photographs of Lofoten.

Tour Program
3-Night Northern Lights Lofoten
Day 1: Arrival
Arrival Svolvær
(SAS/Wideroe flights from Heathrow land in Svolvær at 17:20 / 18:55)
This trip corresponds with SAS/Wideroe flights from London Heathrow, connecting at Oslo and Bodø. If you want to combine the trip with other flights or additional nights, please contact us and we will help accommodate your trip.
A transfer service is included for you from the airport to Svinøya Rorbuer. Check in to your original fishermen’s cabin at Svinøya Rorbuer.
Your program on the first evening includes a guided walking tour of Svolvær where you will be introduced to its history and culture.

Day 2: Lofoten by the Seaside
Spend a day in the Seaside of Lofoten

Fishing Trip or RIB-Safari
You can choose either to go on a fishing trip with locals or a RIB Safari to see sea eagles up close.
On the fishing trip, experience real Lofoten fishing and try a hand at catching your own evening meal! Each year, the well-known migratory cod from the Barents Sea com into the coast of Lofoten. Fishing has been vital to the Lofoten Islands for over 1000 years, and Svinøya has been welcoming guests and fishermen for nearly 200 years. If you catch something nice during your trip, Børsen Spiseri will prepare this for your dinner.
During the RIB Safari you will explore Lofoten’s coastline and visit the famous Trollfjorden, experiencing sea eagles from a close range. Trollfjord is surrounded by mountains rising 1000 metres directly from the ocean. Experienced guides have plenty of great stories and local knowledge to offer as you glide through your seaside adventure. Afterwards, you will be served a standard dinner at Børsen Spiseri.
Northern Lights
Chase the magical Northern Lights! After your meal, a Northern Lights guide/photographer will take you out to hunt the best spots for Northern Lights viewing. This hunt lasts 3.5 – 6 hours depending on weather conditions.
Before you head out, a lecture will be held on the background of the natural phenomenon and basic photography tips. You will then be taken by minibus to an area with the best chances of sightings on that particular night, away from artificial light pollution.
NB: Northern lights sightings cannot be guaranteed due to weather and solar conditions, but we will do our very best!

Day 3: See the Sights

Photo Tour
Spend the day on a photo tour experiencing the best spots in the Lofoten Islands! A professional photographer will take you to the best photo spots to catch the arctic light of the day. The tour lasts for 6 – 7 hours, touring through beautiful areas like Henningsvær, Haukland Beach, and Reine.
On arrival back to Svolvær, a lovely dinner will be ready for you at Børsen Spiseri. Get a taste of authentic Lofoten with many small dishes of local food prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Spend the rest of the evening relaxing or exploring your own, looking out for Northern Lights and experiencing Svolvær at night.

Day 4: Departure
Departure
Have a last stroll around Svolvær or try one last short activity before heading to the airport. Airport transfer included from your resort to Svolvær airport.

**Bring a warm hat, gloves and scarf, thermal wool or similar long johns and underwear as well as warm winter boots and socks. We recommend you also bring Gortex trousers and a Gortex or down jacket.
