For the best possible experience, we recommend three overnight stays at hand-picked hotels in Oslo, Flåm, and Bergen. Options include the routes Oslo-Flåm-Bergen or Bergen-Flåm-Oslo, and either the basic or premium fjord cruise in Nærøyfjord.

Depending on when you arrive in Oslo, spend the first day exploring the nation’s capital. You can also go to your hotel and rest for the adventure ahead.
Check-in at your convenience to the Anker Apartment, who has a 24-hour front desk. The closest landmarks in the area include Botanical Garden, the Natural History Museum, and Birkelunden. These are all within walking distance.

Set out from the city on the scenic route to Myrdal with the Bergen Railway. This is a comfortable, spacious long-distance train. Take a fresh breath of mountain air, and change trains at Myrdal to the fantastic Flåm Railway. One of the most spectacular railway journeys on earth according to Lonely Planet.
Starting from sea level and rising to 900 metres, the journey offers brilliant photo opportunities. The panoramic views range from mountainsides to narrow valleys and dramatic waterfalls. Once in Flåm, you’ll find yourself surrounded by a branch of the world’s second-largest fjord. The Sognefjord. Here there are opportunities to hike or add on some extra activities such as cycling, or the Flåm Zipline – the longest zipline in scandinavia which offers exhilirating views from above! You may also want to sit down for a drink and take in the beautiful sights.
After a long day of travel, stay at the Flåmsbrygga Hotel, 100 metres from the train station. The hotel has a Norse-themed restaurant & pub that brews its own award winning beer. They offer the possibility for beer tastings along with a viking plank consisting of a 5 course meal paired with various beers. Some rooms also have a balcony view of the Aurland Fjord.

Upon arrival in Gudvangen, take the bus through the small villages of Nærøydalen. Between May-September, the bus trip includes a thrilling route down the steep bends of Stalheimskleiva. Once at your final destination in Voss, the last leg of the trip continues by train on the Bergen Railway to Bergen.
Travel duration: 1 hr to Voss, 1 hr to Bergen
Stay one last night in Bergen at the Magic Hotel Korskirken. Explore the history and tradition behind its charming harbour. This international city hosts a wide range of concerts and international festivals. You may want to check those before choosing the dates for your tour. Whilst in Bergen, the Fløibanen Funicular is a must-do railway that takes you from the city centre to the mountain of Fløyen within just 6 minutes. Once you reach the top, you’ll be able to enjoy mesmerising panoramic views of the city.

On the final day, depart from Bergen.
The train station connecting back to Oslo is within the city centre, while Bergen Airport is a 20-minute drive away.
If you are arriving in Bergen first, you have the option of staying there the first night. Continuing with the bus and cruise to Flåm, and taking the scenic railway to Oslo as your final destination. All transportation routes and accommodation remain the same.
